Many people suddenly have become privacy experts claiming that this or that is "not allowed anymore because of GDPR!". Usually, this might looks as a reasonable, but in reality many of these statements seem too strict for reality. Most of the time it is just an interpretation from someone of the law. The GDPR is a 100 plus page law, that describes many things but also leaves a lot of room for interpretation. It usually does not say exactly the things that people claim it to say. Even the Data Protection Authorities are constantly discussing about how to apply certain requirements.

Our experience is: when you are doing normal business and aren't misusing someone's personal data a lot is still allowed as long as you have set up the basic measures for privacy. GDPR is then not that hard and will give plenty of room for doing normal data processing. So don't listen too much to all the new 'experts' that try to scare you. Listen to us and do data privacy right!
